End of Year Update

£12,000 raised thanks to your support!

We have successfully completed our first full year since the pandemic, back in person – and it feels amazing! It has been brilliant to see you all at our events, supporting the PTA and our amazing school. We are incredibly grateful for your support.

This year we held several pre-loved uniform sales, Christmas raffles, a hilarious Bingo Night with award winning comedian/cabaret artist ‘Aidan Sandler’, a fab Quiz Night where the winners were decided by just two points and a fantastic Summer Fair – you can see more photos here – that saw the biggest turnout ever for a PTA event and raised over £7,000.

The fundraising target set for us by the School this year was to raise £20,000 for the new library – an incredibly ambitious goal, and more than twice what we’ve been asked for in previous years. We didn’t quite get there, but we did raise an amazing £12,000 with your help.

The school managed to borrow some funds to complete the library on time – it’s pictured below – and we’ve given £12,000 to the school this week to pay off more than half of that cost.

So thank you for supporting our events this year, and for all your donations – and a special thanks to those who also volunteered their time to help at our events. The PTA Committee is a small team of only seven parents and we simply can’t run all our events without your help – the more volunteers we have, the more we can do, and the more we can raise for the school.

We are already planning our events for Autumn, and if you can spare even half an hour to help us at one that would be greatly appreciated – the dates are all below, please do get in touch!

Summer Fair 2022

Thank you so much to everyone who came along to our Summer Fair this year. We’re thrilled to say that it was our biggest and most successful fundraising event to date. At the end of a very busy day we had raised a total of £7133 for the school – a huge step towards our target for the year of £20,000.

Special thanks to all the volunteers who helped us prepare for, set up and run the fair on the day – whether it was making posters, fixing bikes, sending emails or running a stall for hours on a hot and busy Saturday. Your support is what makes this kind of event possible.

Uniform Sales

Pre-Loved Uniform Sale

We will be holding a pre-loved Uniform sale on Thursday 26th May, in the KS1 playground after school.

All welcome – we have loads of freshly laundered polo shirts, three for £1, as well as purple uniform items, dresses, skirts and trousers for sale.


Save the Date: Summer Fair

We are so excited that our biggest fundraising event of the year is back on Saturday 25 June from 12noon – 4pm. The Fair is a really important fundraising event for the school and after a hiatus of two years, we are really hopeful that all the parents, kids & staff will support the Fair this year, and raise loads of money for the new library!

This year our theme is the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, so expect to see lots of bunting, balloons and cake! Some of the stalls at this year’s event include:

  • Bouncy castle
  • Penalty Shoot Out
  • A bar with Prosecco, beers and more (over 18s, obviously)
  • Dough n Go Pizza
  • The Greek Way meze
  • Ice cream
  • Cake & Sweet Treat stalls
  • Face painters
  • Family fair games
  • Arts & crafts activity stalls
  • A photo booth with a 40s/50s theme

We will be also be running our ever so popular cake competition, which is open to all ages, a Royal portrait competition that all the kids can get involved in and a raffle with some amazing prizes.

Want to get involved? There are so many ways you can help:

  • Could you run an activity or games stall, or volunteer to help on the day?
  • Could your employer donate a raffle prize?
  • Are you a local business who could run a stall in our ‘Creative Coopers Marketplace’ – a pitch costs £25 for the day?
  • Do you run a food business? Would you like to sell at the Fair?
  • Are you part of a community group that could run a fun activity or perform on our stage?
  • Are you an experienced Face Painter or know someone who is? We need more people to support our most popular stall!
  • Could we put an advertising board outside your home? It costs you nothing but the school gets a donation for each (click here!)

Events reminder – this term!

Welcome back !

We hope that you all had a fab half term despite Storm Eunice and the lack of sunshine !

Just a reminder about two upcoming PTA events:

We still need volunteers to help with the uniform stall. If you are free, please let us know. At the moment, we only have two volunteers running the sale and that is not enough, as we know how popular the sale will be!

Second hand uniform sale

Thursday 3 March 2022 @ 3.15pm

KS1 playground

Our next second hand uniform sale takes place on Thurs 3 March 2022 @ 3.15pm in the KS1 playground. We will be selling purple cardigans & jumpers, grey trousers/shorts/pinafores/skirts as well as coloured PE t-shirts, summer dresses and school backpacks. Cash or card payment is available. Please do come along and support our fundraising drive for the new library.

The first PTA meeting of 2022 will take place on 3rd February at 7.30pm at the Crown Tavern on Burnt Ash Hill.

Events Uniform Sales Updates

New Year update

We hope that you all had a fantastic festive break with family and friends, even if it was a little bit different that what we were all expecting. The PTA have lots of exciting things happening this term, so please read on to find out all the details and how you can continue to support the school & kids !

Ceilidh Night
Unfortunately, the annual PTA Ceilidh Night on Friday 28 January 2022, has been postponed. We will hopefully reschedule this popular and fun night in due course. Our next big fundraising event will be the ‘Coopers Lane Big Quiz Night In’ on Friday 11 March, so start prepping now and get your team together. It’s two years since we hosted our last quiz night and it’s always such a popular and entertaining evening. More info coming soon !

Next meeting date
Our next meeting date is Thursday 3 February at 7.30pm. The venue will be confirmed shortly. Keep an eye on our social media accounts for the details. Remember, every parent, carer and teacher at Coopers Lane is automatically a member of the PTA and can come along to all meetings.

Summer Fayre 2022
This year, we are very hopeful that we are going to be able to run our biggest event of the PTA calendar – the Coopers Lane Annual Summer Fayre. The fayre will take place on Saturday 18 June from 12noon – 4pm in the school grounds and our theme will be ‘The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee’. As usual, there will be lots of fun stalls and activities for all ages as well as some yummy food/drink stalls to try out. This year, we will also be running our cake competition and a royal portrait competition that all the kids can get involved in.

We are currently in the planning stages of the fayre and are looking for the following:
• Local companies who would like to donate a raffle prize
• Small & creative local businesses who would like to host a stall in our ‘Creative Coopers Marketplace’
• Any local food & drinks retailers to be part of our ‘Coopers Lane Café’
• Local community groups, who might like to come along, run a fun activity or perform on our stage
• Face painters – the most popular stall ever !!!
Most importantly, we are on the look out for LOADS OF VOLUNTEERS to help set up, run and support the fayre. This is a large scale event that needs a lots of hands to help make it a success.

Uniform sale
A second hand uniform sale will take place after February half term. Date & time to be confirmed. If you have any uniform to donate, please either contact the PTA or drop it into the school office labelled for the PTA. We are particularly looking for Year 6 Varsity jackets as they are always in demand !

Library update
The plans for the new school library have now been finalised and work will start very soon. You can see a computer generated image below, which gives you an idea of how it will look. Now we need your help!

Our target is to raise £20,000 over the year! The library will be a magical space for ALL children to enjoy for years to come. Helping children to discover a love of reading is one of the best gifts we can give them!

End of Year Update

Wow – what a term it has been! Thank you for all your support of the PTA and our activities. Without your support, we couldn’t support our lovely school and ensure that our children and the amazing staff have the opportunity to thrive and flourish!

Here’s what we’ve been up to this term, and what’s coming up next in the new year.

Moonshot 2021

Our Race to the Moon is completed, and what an amazing adventure we have had. Our total journey time across the four weeks is an amazing 801 hours and 46 minutes, which is awesome! Westminster, Charing Cross and the Teachers & Staff landed their spaceships on the moon, but collectively Coopers Lane Primary School has travelled to the moon and back 5 times.

Westminster won the Moonshot Class Treat Afternoon in Key Stage 1/EYFS, and Charing Cross won in Key Stage 2. 

Our fundraising total for the challenge is £790 and counting – thank you to everyone who donated. If you have any funds to donate from the sponsorship forms, please return them to the school office as soon as you. Every penny helps and will go towards the new school library.

Congratulations to everyone who raced to the moon – we hope that you had fun and enjoyed taking part in this active travel challenge. Maybe you will leave the car at home when we return in January, and keep walking, cycling and scooting to school instead!

Christmas Raffle Hampers

It has been great to see so many parents, carers and staff in person at the fabulous Christmas productions over the last few weeks. The teachers and kids worked so hard and every show brought a smile to our faces! Thank you to everyone for supporting the Christmas Hamper Raffles – we raised an incredible £1,411 thanks to your generosity. We hope those of you who were lucky enough to win the gorgeous hampers enjoy your prizes.

Next Event: Ceilidh Night, 28th January

Our next big fundraising event will be our annual ceilidh night on Friday 28 January at 7pm. You can now purchase your ticket via Eventbrite here. This is a great night and lots of fun, so do come along and learn a few ceilidh moves! Obviously, if Covid19 restrictions change and we are unable to host this night, we will let you know.

And Finally..

A MASSIVE thank you to everyone who has supported the PTA over the past year. It’s not been an easy one at all, but your support has kept us going. 

A huge thanks go out to the PTA Committee – Isobel Clift, Sharon Ibbotson, Claire Carter, Amanda Woodburn & Jacks Lampon – who all worked tirelessly, for free, in their spare time, to make sure that the PTA is active and supporting the school as much as we can.

Special thanks also to Tom Royal and Adrian Legouix, who have helped develop our website, design our new logo and improve our digital presence. You are both awesome!
